PURE Youth Irving

Irving, TX

PURE Youth is a leadership program that has the goal of presenting the impact that education has in our communities by spreading awareness through multiple projects and events. PURE Youth has a wide branch of volunteers with many interests and this program allows them to do projects they want to do to help impact our society.

The Irving, Texas Chapter was created in May, 2020 with 5 people and our chapter continues to grow as we continue to make an impact in society by helping communities all around the world.

Our first project that we took up was to provide food and masks to healthcare workers. As we had started in the middle of the COVID-19 crisis we realized that healthcare workers were a huge part of the community due to the fact that they were caring for many people who had fallen victim to this virus. From there we continued hosting new events and fundraisers such as science camps, plant sales, tutoring, and bake sales.

Our team worked on many projects during the years ranging from supporting the school with clean water, grills, repairing the schools and establishing the femme plant, support the establishment of the RO plants, providing STEM access to rural children, providing classroom necessities like books and stationary, helping with self sustainment for women in uganda. Along with these international projects, we are active in our local community to help a local school with clothes for kids, local shelters with food and clothes and basic amenities needed, helping our community school kids with the school supplies. We are glad to make a great impact to both the local and international community and strive in providing the kids with a proper education. Our team members also helped with creating the content for the kids who do not have access to schools to self learn and also teach local kids the knowledge we know through STEM and Coding camps.

Our team has now grown to 10 youth ambassadors and we have done many projects that have impacted our local and international communities. We want to continue to help those around by providing them knowledge and opportunities for education and make an impact on people around us.

While we were dropping the food, we saw the need for food as we were able to witness first hand in our community. This brought us to understand the importance of not wasting and be able to help our community.
  • Spring 2022 - STEM Kits for kids in India - STEM is a huge part of our lives and we are active members of helping making STEM part of every kid and providing an opportunity to the rural schools in India. Led By Children, For Children

Testimonials

What I liked about Volunteering with PURE Youth was that I learned how to spend time helping others and learning how to work and lead a team. I learned that PURE worked with many amazing people to help the children in need. From PURE I gained knowledge on how to help children in need, come up with fun fundraising ideas and most important of all I learned how to give back to the community. I also got to know a lot of people through this program.
- Yashas

What I like about volunteering with PURE Youth is that I help other people who are in need. I learned that every single thing we’re doing, for every event or fundraiser we still help these people. What I gained from PURE Youth is that even though we do projects I still have fun but also help those in need.
- Rishi

I like helping people in India and helping people is the right thing to do. I learned that helping is a good thing to do when there are people in need. I wanted to learn more about volunteering and how to help people and children in need.
- Charan

What I liked about volunteering is that I learn more knowledge about how to help people.PURE youth uses teamwork and leadership to help people in need get the help they really need. What I gained in PURE youth is my self confidence when I speak up in front of everybody.
- Riya Vallabhaneni

The thing I like about PURE is the opportunity of sharing what I learnt with other kids here and across the world. I also learnt that we take many things for granted and it is an eye opener for me that many of our friends do not have basic needs. I joined PURE to give back what I have and promote the idea of giving and helping those with some of the basic needs like education, food and clothing. I always believe education is for everyone and with the help of PURE i am able to promote and contribute to helping kids get education.
- Pranav

One thing I like about PURE Youth is that it gives me the chance to have a significant impact on society. After working on projects with PURE, I learned that there are several unexpected barriers between an underprivileged child and education. These obstacles are usually not taken into consideration, as most organizations only help the school itself while PURE focuses on assisting with overlooked issues such as transportation, food, clothing, etc. When I joined PURE, I hoped to be able to improve the conditions of another student, and I successfully did this to others that are less fortunate.
- Sindhu

What I like about Volunteering in Pure Youth is that I understand that there are underprivileged kids out there and I feel it is our duty to help and support those kids and Pure lets me do exactly that and help many others. Volunteering in Pure has taught me many things from working in a team to giving to others and this wonderful opportunity is one I just could not pass by.
- Ashish Kantheti

The main thing that I like about volunteering in Pure Youth is that I am able to help less privileged people across the globe. There are many people, especially in India, that don’t have access to things that many of us take for granted. Each one of us can do our part to help those in need by taking just a few hours out of our week to volunteer or raise money. It is very fulfilling to know that my work aids those who are less fortunate than me.
- Varun Sirigireddy

What I like about volunteering with PURE is that there are so many people out there who are struggling to live and I like to help those in need and PURE helps me do that.PURE Also helped me learn new ways to help those in need.we take many stuff for granted that other people struggle just to get those needs.PURE helps me promote the idea of giving and helping those in need with needs like food, shelter, clothes, and education.education is a important thing in life so everyone should have education, but some people out there do not have education.with the help of Pure I am able to help with needs and promote the idea of giving to others.

What does giving Education Volunteering mean to you

  1. What does volunteering mean to you?
  2. What do you think of giving the gift of education?
  3. How can Education help a person?
  4. What are your thoughts on Giving/Sharing in general?

PURE Youth Irving is a dedicated group of individuals who strongly believe in providing education to every child, regardless of their social or economic status. Volunteering, for us, means actively engaging in selfless actions to make a positive impact in the lives of others. It is about offering our time, skills, and resources to support those in need and contribute to the betterment of society. Giving the gift of education is one of the most powerful and transformative acts one can offer. Education not only empowers individuals with knowledge and skills but also opens doors of opportunity and enables them to reach their full potential. It equips people with the tools to overcome obstacles, pursue their dreams, and contribute meaningfully to their communities. We firmly believe that education is a fundamental right that should be accessible to all. In general, we strongly advocate for giving and sharing. We believe that when we give selflessly, whether it is our time, resources, or expertise, we create a ripple effect of positive change. Sharing our blessings not only uplifts those in need but also brings a sense of fulfillment and strengthens the bonds within our communities. Giving and sharing foster empathy, compassion, and a sense of collective responsibility, which are crucial for building a more inclusive and equitable society.

Every member of our PURE Youth Irving team selflessly works together to make a tangible impact on the community. We engage in various initiatives to raise funds, organize food, clothes, and book drives, and even participate in park clean-up activities. Through our tireless efforts, we aim to address the immediate needs of children who lack access to quality education. We understand that education goes beyond the classroom, and that's why we strive to create a conducive learning environment by providing essential resources like books, school supplies, and clothing. By organizing community drives, we not only collect and distribute these much-needed items but also raise awareness about the importance of education for every child. Our commitment to improving the community extends to environmental stewardship as well. We actively participate in park clean-up activities, ensuring that public spaces are safe, clean, and enjoyable for all. Our team's selfless work serves as a testament to our dedication to empowering children and creating a positive change in their lives and the community as a whole.
