PURE Femme.
End the taboo. Period.

Femme Rising
A Flow of Change
PURE Femme works to make menstrual health a source of knowledge and confidence. Through period literacy workshops, access to menstrual products and community advocacy, the program helps women and girls manage their periods with dignity.
PURE has delivered 4,000+ Femme workshops. The program works in India, the USA, Barbados, Kenya, Ethiopia, Uganda and St. Lucia.
PURE welcomes volunteers and partners who can bring menstrual health education and support to new communities.
How this work connects to the SDGs
Menstrual health and period literacy (3, 4), gender equality (5), hygiene access (6), women’s livelihoods (8) and reusable product options (12) connect PURE Femme’s activities to the Sustainable Development Goals.

Femme’s Path to Menstrual Equity
The focus areas of PURE Femme address the key pillars of menstrual health, from education and advocacy to sustainable solutions. Our initiatives aim to break barriers, provide access to menstrual products, and foster period literacy in communities around the world.

Period Literacy Workshops
Our workshops build understanding of the menstrual cycle, hygiene and period care. Sessions welcome girls, women, boys and men, creating space to ask questions, challenge myths and support menstrual health with confidence.

Vending & Incinerators
PURE Femme helps make menstrual products available through pad vending machines in schools, workplaces and public spaces. The program also provides disposal equipment where it is part of a local initiative.

Sanitary Pad Manufacturing
Community-based pad manufacturing connects access to menstrual products with livelihood opportunities for women. PURE Femme supports local production of affordable sanitary pads, helping communities build skills and strengthen their supply of period-care products.

Pads on Wheels
Pads on Wheels brings menstrual products and period-literacy conversations to underserved and remote communities. The mobile initiative combines product distribution with practical education, helping women and girls access information and support closer to home.

Make space for period conversations
Menstrual Hygiene Day on May 28 is an opportunity to open conversations about periods and improve access to menstrual education and products.
Schools, colleges, shelters, community groups and workplace teams can host a period literacy session, organise a product donation drive or bring people together for an awareness event.
Use the enquiry form below to discuss an activity with PURE Femme. Volunteers and partners are welcome throughout the year.
